In Two Lovers, Joaquin Phoenix stars, in what is purported to be his last film role, as Leonard Kraditor, a somewhat nebbish man in his 30's who lives with his working class Jewish parents in a small Brighton Beach apartment. In Michelangelo Antonioni’s 1975 film The Passenger, Jack Nicholson plays David Locke, a news reporter who travels to Africa to run a localized story on a rather volatile political climate. At the run down hotel he occupies, he makes acquaintance with Robertson, a British man claiming generic businessman status.
