Dosh Tours

Loney Dear
Dosh

In setting out to create his fifth album for Anticon, Martin Dosh had two goals in mind. First: Get loose. 2008's Wolves & Wishes took a step in this direction by way of its guests - freewheelers like Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Odd Nosdam - but Dosh records are well-known for their impeccable arrangements. To wit, Andrew Bird used W&W's "First Impossible" as the rhythmic backbone for a song on last year's critically acclaimed Noble Beast LP. (Dosh has been collaborating, re...

Artist: The Go Find

Title: Everybody Knows It’s Gonna Happen Only Not Tonight

Label: Morr Music

Genre: Pop/Electronic

The Indie pop of the last few years has risen to new heights with millions of people scouring the internet (much like myself) looking for the newest and hottest thing off the presses. As we enter a new decade, internet surfing is no longer the new thing as everyone and their third mothers cousin lays claim to being “in the know” about some little band from Germa...

Yeasayer-Odd Blood

Posted by Joseph Bridges on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, In : Reviews

Artist: Yeasayer

Title: Odd Blood

Label: Secretly Canadian

Genre: Rock/Pop/Electronic

Yeasayer is an oddity that is extremely hard to describe. There is no genre that this band fits into and on their sophomore album; they are trying yet again to bend without breaking a sound that possibly may be from Mars just as easily as it comes from Brooklyn. After All Hours Cymbals went mostly unnoticed in 2007, the band toured endlessly with fellow oddities MGMT and Man Man throughout the next ...

So Cow

So Cow came into being in late 2006 in Seoul, South Korea. This one-man musical project has now becoming something much bigger than he could/should have hoped for...

Rabbit!-Connect the Dots

Posted by Joseph Bridges on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, In : Reviews

Artist: Rabbit!

Title: Connect the Dots

Label: Rock Salt

Genre: Rock/Pop/Electronic

Not to be cornered by the simplicity of their sound, Rabbit! conjures a grab bag of sound bites to be interspersed throughout their debut album Connect the Dots. These sounds provide a strange backdrop to duo vocals that can be best described as somewhere between Jack Johnson and Jack White of the White Stripes when he decides to be strange. Not altogether strange like Hannibal Lecter strange where th...
