Artist: Derek Jordan

Title: Identity

Label: Self Issued

Genre: Rock/Pop

When the liner notes of an album consist of only two words, one might think the artist didn’t have much to say. When those two words are “Fight Conformity”, the whole initial outlook of the music is tempered with an urge to see if the singer and wordsmith will actually live up to expectations.

With his red handprint emblazoned in paint upon his chest, Derek Jordan seeks to become his own man in a world that is crowded with copycats. While there are sounds throughout this debut emanating of classic Ozzy from the seventies and a contemporary touch of Chris Cornell, the best parts of Identity are the times Jordan breaks from normality into the words he has crafted into these ten songs.

Being yourself is very hard in our modern times. It takes a lot of courage for a person to move from Pennsylvania to Hollywood and self finance an album. Derek Jordan has trod that path and now is looking forward to the day when this excellent debut becomes an identity synonymous with his name.
